We then went to the Bissap Cafe, which sold Bissap tea, it was made from red leaves and was sweet. It was really good. Then Julia played a guitar on the roof for our own personal concert with the guys who worked at the cafe. One guy filmed her and said that he was going to sell her songs in Mali. She was flattered.

De retour sur la terre ferme nous sommes allés manger au « Bissap Café », c’était tout simplement succulent.

C’est cher, mais c’est bon. Pichet de bissap à 1 000 F, plats africains à 4 000 F, yaourt (au miel sauvage, un régal !) à 900 F, salade de fruits frais à 1 200 F. Bonnes pizzas au feu de bois également (autour de 4 000 F)

"When you're in Mopti, if you want some peace and quiet (from necklace sellers, guides etc.) on the waterfront, the cafe bissap is a haven of calm, though probably a bit pricier than other places. It also does good food and drink. Guides aren't allowed in unless they are already with someone - so there's no touting."
